Lighthouse of Año Nuevo

Abandoned island is an oasis for elephant seals!!
In Ano Nuevo State Reserve, obsolete lighthouse facilities are still standing even they had ended their roles. That place is only for marine life so I can’t go on, but it’s possible to watch the lighthouses from the opposite shore. Tons of sea birds and elephant seals are around the ruins, in addition, there are many guardians in the sea…man-eating sharks. Unfortunately, I could not get closer any more, the view of the lighthouses with a telephoto lens was just great!!!!!!!

アニョ・ヌエボ州立保護区は、放棄された灯台施設の廃墟があります。そこは海洋生物の聖域なので上陸することはできないんですが、対岸からその廃墟を眺めることができます。廃墟のまわりには、たくさんの海鳥とゾウアザラシが集まり、海にはホオジロザメはウヨウヨ…屈強なガーディアンに守れた鉄壁の廃墟です！ 残念ながら、まじかで見ることはできませんでしたが、望遠レンズ越しにみた廃墟の寂れ具合はかなりかっこよかったです。

History:
Access to Ano Nuevo Island is restricted to members of approved research teams. The island is closed to the public. Ano Nuevo Island has a few abandoned buildings built in the late 19th century. A residential home and foghorn station, all abandoned, are located on the island. The original light tower was deliberately toppled early in the first decade of the 21st century as it began to deteriorate and became a hazard to the resident wildlife. Some of the remaining buildings are used as research facilities.

アニョ・ヌエボ島へのアクセスは、公式の研究チームだけに制限されています。なので一般人は島に上陸出来ません。ANOヌエボ島は、19世紀後半に建てられた住宅家庭や霧笛小屋と灯台の廃墟があります。放棄された後、灯台施設の廃墟は野生生物の憩いの場所となり、21世紀に入り、灯台部分に関しては意図的に取り壊されました。残りの建物は現在も、研究施設として使用されています。
