Bodie Ghost Town

History:
In 1859 William (a.k.a. Waterman) S. Bodey discovered gold near what is now called Bodie Bluff. A mill was established in 1861 and the town began to grow. It started with about 20 miners and grew to an estimated 10,000 people by 1880! Bodie bustled! but In 1917, the Bodie Railway was abandoned and its iron tracks were scrapped. The last mine closed in 1942, due to War Production Board order L-208, shutting down all nonessential gold mines in the United States, and Mining never resumed…Today it looks much the same as it did over 50 years ago when the last residents left. 1859年、 William S. Bodeyはボディブラフと呼ばれる場所で金を発見しました。1861年に炭鉱が建設され、町は一気に成長しました。最初は２０人の炭鉱夫しかいなかった町も、1880年には一万人の人が住む街となり、ボディは大変賑わいをみせたそうです。しかし1917年に、金の生産は滞りをみせ、しまいには鉄道は放棄され、金を運搬する車両も放棄されました。1942年に金鉱山は需要の低下により閉鎖され、再開されることはありませんでした。今日では、50年前に最後の住民が去ったときとほぼ同じ光景が見れます。

Bodie is a ghost town in the eastside of Bodie Hills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in Mono County, California. Bodie is now an authentic Wild West ghost town. Visitors can walk on the deserted streets of a town that used to be a bustling area of activity. 🙂

ゴーストタウン・ボディはモノラル郡、カリフォルニア州のシエラネバダ山脈のボディーヒルズ東にあるゴーストタウンです。現在の町は、本格的ワイルドウエスタンなゴーストタウンで、かつて賑やかだった町のさびれっぷりを歩いてみることができます 🙂

This is called Ghost town, but not abandoned and The road to Bodie is extremely rough with more than 10 miles of dirt track in a bad state of repair, but It’s worth going to Bodie because is an historic town. If you like abandoned places, you can see the amazing ghost town 🙂

ゴーストタウンと呼ばれていますが、廃墟ではありませんが、廃墟好きならかならず満足できる場所だと思います！しかしボディへの道は、ガッタガタの悪い状態の道を10マイルほど運転しなくちゃいけませんが、それを乗り越えると歴史的な町ボディが見えてきます！

Here, there is a typical landscape in westerns!! There were buildings, mining factory, church, bars, shops, miners’ houses and many kinds of buildings on the side of a mountain gently-sloped. I climbed the hill, There was a beautiful view whole town, in front of me. I love the wide view of this town, western buildings seen at a distance from the hill, They were like a miniature. 🙂

西部劇だ！！！と言わんばかりの典型的な風景が、緩やかな傾斜した土地に広がります。鉱山、教会、バーにショップ、そしてたくさんの炭鉱夫とその家族が住んでいた家！丘に方に登ってみれば、この美しい町の全景を見ることができます。大草原の炭鉱町が広がり、ワイルドウェスタン！！！！をガツガツ感じれる場所です。
