This very small school is located in Omura Nagasaki Pref. It is called Minami kawauchi branch school for Kayase elementary school. Looking at the structure from outside, look likes a countryside old house. Moreover is wooden made, simply wonderful!
There is some missing character on the sign board, I was able to read “Minami Kawaicuhi…”! There is just one classroom. Inside the room remained some pictures by students drew, thought to be used at that time and there leaves a warm atmosphere.
History: It is said that people in this area were charcoal makers. Children of their descendants, went to this school. However, Charcoal production start to decline and the population of this area had decreased. And ultimately abandoned..
After exploring the Gunkanjima, I visited this school with 3 other explorers this school. A lot of weeds growing around , and this historical building, but now is on the verge of collapse.
