Hotel Heinrich Heine

There is a huge abandoned building named Hotel Heinrich Heine a.k.a Pine Hotel in National Park Harz Schierke in East Germany. This place used be known as a health resort. In the old days, this outstanding hotel was a really famous and sophisticated but now, its body is on the brink of collapse. My friend has no interest in abandoned buildings exceptionally enters MOE-MOE mode with saying “This is totally UNCHARTED!!!”

東ドイツ、National Park Harzという場所にシールケ (SCHIERKE)に、ホテルハインリヒ・ハイネ(Hotel Heinrich Heine. a.k.a Pine Hotel)といわれる巨大廃墟ホテルがあります。この場所は、昔は保養地としても知られていました。ひときわ大きなこのハインリヒは当時有名高級ホテルでしたが、今では半分崩れ、崩壊寸前。廃墟に無理やり一緒に付き合ってくれた友人はその崩壊具合と自然調和を見て「アンチャ―テッドだ！」と珍しく萌えてました。

History

This hotel was built between 1898 and 1900, and used by government officials and rich businessmen. After WW2, its name was changed to Heinrich Heine, and Russian VIPs used this hotel. This hotel had been very popular until German unification, but after that, got into financial difficulty and was closed in 1995. It still be abandoned even it was bought up in 2007.

この高級ホテルは1898-1900の間に建てられ、政府関係者や裕福なビジネスマンが利用したようです。第二次世界大戦後に名前はホテルハインリヒ・ハイネに変更され、ロシアのお偉い方が利用していたとされています。ハインリヒ・ハイネは非常に人気であり続けたが、1990年のドイツ統一後に、ホテルの運営会社が資金難に陥り、1995年に閉鎖されました。2007年に買収されたようですが、いまだに廃墟のままです。

A Revolving Door Revolves Me

Oh, the fence is open…no difficulty to get inside. The first we met was a huge entrance with a signboard. Wow!!! A revolving door!!!! Of course it was too old to revolve smoothly, but it was too revolved to revolve me who has revolved mind.

まずお目見えしたのが、いまだ看板も残る迫力のホテル正面。しかも入口は、WOW! 回転扉だよ!!もちろんボロボロなので、回転はスムーズではなかったけれど、感動のあまりに何度も回転を楽しんでしまった…。

Creaks Freaks Me out

Most of this hotel was built of wood, and left side from 3rd floor of this building was collapsed…yeah nice atmosphere!!!! While walking inside this place, we always heard creaking sounds…well, please be careful not to give ANY shocks!!! I was feeling this hotel used be a really great and luxury while taking a look around a lounge, a great hall, and many huge rooms. One thing I was disappointed was there was no things left behind; however, for me, this hotel became one of the most impressive abandoned buildings in Germany because of its beautiful appearance.

このホテル、ほとんどが木造なので、左半分は三階からみごとに崩壊していて、廃墟感たっぷりで素敵でした。探索中は常にギギギとホテル全体が軋むような音がして、いつ崩れるのかハラハラしながらも、慎重に探索。ラウンジに大広間など、当時と思わせる大きな部屋がいくつもあり、さぞかし豪華なホテルだったんだなあと感じさせれくれました。残留物が残ってないのが残念ではありますが、崩壊していくさまが美しく、ドイツの廃墟の中でも印象に残った廃墟のひとつになりました。
