Hotel Monroe

The historical building known as the Hotel Monroe is in Phoenix, Arizona. It was built in 1931. The Professional Building is designed in the Art Deco style 12-story tower. The hotel has been mired in bankruptcy and foreclosure proceedings. After that, this hotel was planned to be re-opened in October 2008, but the project was stopped because of the collapse of its lender Mortgages. (Via: azcentral.com)

ホテルモンローとして知られている歴史的な建物は、アリゾナ州フェニックスにあります。1931年に建設され、アールデコ様式の12階建ての美しいビルでした。しかしビルは破産や差し押さえにより閉鎖、2008年10月に再オープンする予定でしたが、資金ぐりの問題で放棄されたままです。

This building is called Hotel Monroe by everyone, but It has never been a hotel. There was housing offices and a bank. I heard it currently being renovated, When I visited this building, the doors and windows were closed… not doing renovation, it has been abandoned.

建物はホテルモンローと呼ばれていますが、実は元々はホテルではなく、会社や銀行があるオフィスビルだったらしいです。改装中と聞いていましたが、実際見に行くとまったくそんな様子はなく、窓は全部塞がれていました。

The building had these cool shapes and Art Deco architecture, Was very nice 😀 In spite of this good location and good exterior, building is abandoned…It is Mottainai! I didn’t find any access, so we couldn’t enter inside the building, but was really enjoyed also just look from the outside.

アールデコのデザインが素敵なビル。好立地で、デザインもかっこいいのに、何年も放置されています。建物のまわりを見ましたが、入れそうな場所はありませんでした。都市部の廃墟は入りにくいことこの上ない…
