ニッチツ。Nitchitsu Mine located between Saitama Pref Gunma Pref, Japan, and which is one of the most typical abandoned mine in Japan. The residential area of former coal miners is vast. There is many abandoned mine relationship building still now, Apartments, elementary school, dance hall, small hospital etc…Then the company is still working there, So the main building area of activity, but the other half is completely abandoned.
群馬県と埼玉県の間に位置し、海外の探索家からも注目されている、日本で有名な廃鉱山の一つがニッチツ鉱山です。敷地内には、アパート、小学校、集会場、小さな医院などの多くの建物があり、そのまま廃墟化しています。ニッチツ鉱山は現在も操業中です。
The desolate ghost town
I visited this ghost town back in 2012 during the freezing mid-winter with Italians, Canadian. Once explorers face these buildings, they must have shouted “****!!! Too vast!!!! From where I have to go!?!!???” It’s vast, indeed. The desolate atmosphere surrounded by forests had its own breathtaking beauty. You could see so many abandoned apartments continuing all the way up the hill but streets leading to it were covered by overgrown grass.
