This massive former automobile manufacturing plant is located within the university campus. It looks like a huge warehouse instead of a factory without any kind of machines. There used to be four buildings in total, each building approximately 300m long, but there’s only one left standing. This factory is considered to be the largest abandoned complex in the country of Taiwan.

A Little History
The plant started running its business during the mid-1960s. It was initially a small company producing motorcycles parts and supplies, but business grew rapidly and by 1976, they were making several Peugeot automobiles. In 1980s, they signed a deal with Daihatsu to build some of their lines too and everything seemed to go smoothly. In 1995, however, their history abruptly comes to an end due to tax evasion and fund embezzlement. The factory went up for an auction soon after, but nothing much has been done ever since.1960年半ばに工場は操業を開始します。

Rain can bring a surprising present
I got caught out by a sudden downpour while I was there, but it brought an amazing view with it. The ceiling of the factory reflected off of the rain puddle, and it felt like as if I was inside of a spaceship! I read a similar report of this abandoned factory somewhere, but its massive size really make you feel like you’re riding on a gigantic spaceship.
