Go to Tarragona ! Mazinger Z !

Did you ever hear about Tarragona, Spain? You can go there by train from Barcelona and will about one hour. This location overlook the Mediterranean Sea so this area is a popular beach resort, but there are also many interesting historic place as an “Anfiteatro Romano”, in english called “Devil’s Bridge”, who was added to the Unesco’s list of World Heritage Sites.

スペインのタラゴナを聞いたことがありますか？バルセロナから電車で一時間1時間ちょっと。地中海に面していることからビーチリゾートで海水浴なんかでも有名。世界遺産の“ローマ円形競技場”もあるし、歴史的な悪魔の橋と呼ばれる“ラス・ファレラス水道橋”もあります。

But the reason I came to Tarragona is not to see them! I wanted to see the “Mazinger Z Statue” Look look! ↓↓↓
しかし私がタラゴナに来た理由はそれらを見るためじゃない！“マジンガーZの像”を見るためだったんです！これこれ↓↓↓

Unfortunately I was not able to see the Mazinga Z statue, because I forgot my international drive licence, so we tried to go by taxi, but the location was too far and the driver refuse to bring us there. We switched to the Plan B: sightseeing around Tarragona city and explore an abandoned sanatorium.

残念ながら、マジンガーZは見れませんでした。国際免許忘れた…タクシーをチャーターして行くつもりだったけど、場所が遠すぎて断られた…ので、市内観光とサナトリウムの廃墟に行った。

Because this city overlook the sea, there is a interesting environment contrast, and look ant the Anfiteatro Romano and the Mediterranean sea at the same time is amazing! One of the most representative spot of Tarragona is “Catedral de Santa Maria”: a totally white and beautiful church. Actually the sunlight was too strong and the reflection on the church was really dazzling!

この街では海に面しているので、街とのコントラストを楽しむことができます。ローマ円形競技場は海があるので眺めが最高でした！タラゴナを代表するサンタ・マリア教会は、白く美しいデザイン。日差しが強かったので余計に白く見えた！眩しー！！

A “castell” is a human tower built in a traditional festival in many location within Catalonia, and in Tarragona there is a bronze statue that pay tribute to those events.I also tried to join!

人間が集まって塔になってる銅像はカステル(Castell)の像。カタルーニャ地方に伝わる祭りで行われるイベントの像です。私も参加してみました！

The “Roman Aqueduct” Devil’s Bridge…was very lonely and desolate…cloudy sky…no tourist at all, I couldn’t even cross the bridge, however was been a good place to see.

悪魔の橋と呼ばれる“ラス・ファレラス水道橋”…寂しかった。観光地なのに観光客一人もいない。橋は大きかったけど渡ることが出来なかった。

While walking, I became tired and dehydrated, but I arrived at the Sabinosa’s Sanatorium! The hospital its abandoned since 1976, after the fall of the Spanish dictatorship.
