The Fishermans Village

The Shengshan Island, also called an island of fishermen, is located in the offing of Shanghai. For Chinese people, this place is used as a resort, so many tourists visit during vacation. This island has covered ivy abandoned fisherman’s village Houtouwan. So I’m came here .. However, it takes 3 or 5 hours by a ship to reach this island…longer than tripping from Japan to Shanghai…No way…

嵊山島(嵊山岛Shengshan Island)は上海の沖合にある小さな島で、漁師たちの島とも呼ばれている。中国人にとってはプチリゾート地的な場所で、休暇を利用して訪れる観光客も多い。 この島にはHoutouwanをいうツタに覆われた漁村の廃墟がある。だからここに来たわけだけど…上海から船で３時間から長いと５時間と結構かかる…これは日本から上海に行くよりも長い時間なのでプチ苦行でした。

Let’s Go and Go

At this time, I ignored some famous products and tourist resorts, because my main mission was attacking “The Ivied and Deserted Village” located on the north of this island. To reach the village, a super wild motorcycle taxi took me to the top of the Shengshan Island.

島には名物や観光地がいくつか存在しますが、今回アタシのメインミッションは、島の北側に位置する’ツタに覆われた廃村’ 。その村にアクセスするために、まずは荒ぶるバイクタクシーで一気に島のテッペンまで運んでもらいました。

A Village of Fairy-Tale

Many abandoned buildings covered by nature were on a slope of the coastlands. Originally fishermen lived in this village. Its colorful and patterned design of stone buildings was filled with an exotic mood. The lay of the land was very complexed and non-impediment removal, and made me tired… Because once people come inside this village, they think they stray into a mysterious world, so Chinese people call this place “A Village of Fairy-Tale”. Maybe Japanese people scream “Laputa!!!!” Because of the season, ivies were not enough, however some of buildings were covered by many ivies and really fantastic!

海沿いの斜面に無数の廃墟群が半分自然につつまれながら無数に建っていました。元々は漁師たちが住んでいた村。石造りの建物は、カラフルで模様を施された異国情緒漂うデザイン。地形は複雑で上り下りの激しい、まったくバリアフリーを無視した道。息切れ間違いなし！村の中を歩けば、不思議な世界に迷いこんだように錯覚するため、中国人はこの場所をのことを’おとぎ話の村’と呼んでいるそうです。日本人なら’ラピュタや!!!’と必ず叫ぶと思います。季節のせいか、ちょっとツタが少なかったですが、一部の建物はツタまみれで神秘的な雰囲気でした。

History

It is said that this village was built in 1950. The population estimates more than 2000 when it was at its peak, and their fishery development was prosperous; therefore villagers got rich, and the number of villagers who left had been getting increased from 2002. And now, this village is almost abandoned. The whole village was abandoned after that incident but there are few families still living there so it’s not completely abandoned/ghost town.

1950年に村は作られたといわれています。ピーク時の人口は2000人以上で漁業開発で盛り上がっていたといわれています。だから村人たちはみんなお金持ちになり、2002年頃から村を離れる人が多くなり、その後村はほぼ廃墟状態となりましたが、今でも住んでいる家族がいますので、完全なる廃村ではございませんのであしからず。
