Certosa di M

Certosa di M was used to be used by christian nuns. This building is located on the countryside in Italy. Its beautiful nave always attract explorers strongly even after being ruined. The buildings are separated into 2 parts: a church side and a dormitory side. From the outside, the dormitory looks like new and clean, but the church side is a really old and beautiful brickwork building, moreover it’s getting covered by ivy.

セルトゥーサ・ディ・Mは、かつてキリスト教徒の修道女たちが使用していた修道院の廃墟です。日本語で呼ぶとしたら‘モッタグロッサ修道院’。場所はイタリアの田舎にあり、廃墟となった今でも、修道院の中に美しい身廊が残されていることで有名な廃墟です。建物は、教会がある建物と寄宿舎の二つにわかれています。外観から見た限りでは、寄宿舎の方はあとから増築したような新しい印象でしたが、教会の方は何百年も経っているブロック作りの素晴らしい建物でした。それも長年の放置により、蔦に覆われはじめています。

History
The monastery was a shelter of the group of nuns from France. Their story was very eventful: at the beginning of the 1900, after they toured several different areas around France, they finally found a temporary refuge in a castle in north Italy, and there they founded a first stable nucleus. Around the mid of 930’s, the group of nuns began too big to stay in the castle all together, so they start to move a second group in this monastery. Year by year, the vocation and the nuns decrease dramatically, so much that this complex became too big for this small group of sister, that’s why they move into another place again. In the late 900’s the monastery was.

この修道院はフランスから来た修道女のための修道院だった。彼女たちのストーリーはとても波乱に満ちていました。彼女たちはフランスの様々なエリアを旅した後、900年代の初頭ついに北イタリアのお城の中に彼女たちにとって最適な場所を見つけ、モッタグロッサ修道院を設立しました。930年の半ば頃、彼女たちのグループは大きくなり、二つに分かれることになりました。その後、年を追うごとに修道女の数は減少してしまったので、別の場所へと移動していき、900年代の後半にはこの城は廃墟となりました。

A respectable statue of Jesus Christ welcome us. Because the neighborhood took care of the statue, it looked really beautiful even in ruins.

まず私たちを迎えてくれたのは、立派なイエス・キリストの像。廃墟にあるにしてはかなり保存状態も良く、どうやらさっきのご近所さんがイエス様を手入れしている模様。

Small Nave
In the nave, I felt something we can’t see or hear was there…impressive. The sunlight streamed in through the window, everything inside the church shine all around like gold!! Thank God…BUDDHA!!!! Almost all of sacred utensil were not left, a huge, black cross and an altar were lingering there…just like waiting for something.

宗教関連特有の静かで荘厳な雰囲気が身廊に漂っていました。ちょうど午後の日差しが、窓から差しこんで教会内部は金色に輝いているように見えました！うおお、神がおる！ほとんどの聖具は残されていませんでしたが、巨大な黒い十字架と祭壇に掲げられた十字架が意味ありげに残されていて、印象的でした。
