Oculus Tower

This building, called “Oculus Tower”, is an abandoned factory in an Italian distillery. The circular shape makes me MOE MOE MOE…I hope you guys would feel same MOE. Many explorers discribe this building as “Fantastic building!!”, “One of the best places ever!!!”.

通称‘オクルス・タワー’と呼ばれるイタリアにある蒸留所の工場の廃墟。円形の建物がかっこよすぎて、廃墟好きであれば萌え萌えしてしまう代物。探検家の多くが’素晴らしい！”最高の場所！’と賞賛が後をたたない場所です。

Re-Explore
Several years ago, I found some pictures of this abandoned building. I could locate this but could not know details of this building because of my poor English skill…This time, I checked it again and found it used to be a distillery. OK, here we go!!!!

数年前にこの廃墟の写真をネットで偶然見つけて、その時はイタリアにあるというとこまでは突き止めたのですが、英語も不自由だったので何の廃墟だかかわらずじまいで数年が経過。今回イタリアの廃墟に行くのであればと、色々調べてみると所在なども判明し行ってみることにしました。

History
This factory had been used for processing sugar beets into sugars and other products for the alcohol like Martini, and distilling some sort of liquid. However, the population around this factory kept increasing, in 2003, the government decided to shut this factory down.

この巨大な工場はかつて、てんさい（砂糖の原材料）をマティーニなどのお酒に使われる油や砂糖、アルコールに生成するために使われており、どうやら何かしらの液体を醸造していたようです。しかし周辺地域の人口がどんどん増えていった結果、2003年に当時の政府が工場の閉鎖を決めたみたいです。

OCULUS TOWER!!!!
Inside this factory, one of the highest and most remarkable buildings is the “Oculus Tower”. It is a circular and huge shape, and inside is a cavity. We could go up the stairs. I was really impressed the inside was surrounded by windows!!! The circular buildings always make me feel better…!!! From these windows, I could see a panorama of this factory. I can’t stop myself getting excited…because I WILL EXPLORE THERE!!!! HOWEVER… Tommy never knows what will be happened…

この工場の中で、ひと際高い建物がオクルス・タワーです。円形の巨大な建造物で、中は空洞になっており、階段で上に登ることができます。360度、窓に囲まれた内部は圧巻です！それらの窓から工場の全景を眺めることができるのもうれしいポイント。この広大な敷地を探索できると考えると、高鳴る気持ちが止りませんでしたが、この時のアタシはこれから起こりうることなど想像してなかったのです。

HELLO MR.IRONMAN
When I enjoyed the view from the tower, I found some suspicious guys. Several macho-guys were wondering about the area…I was waiting and seeing them, then I heard huge iron sound and chainsaw sound!!!!…Well, they were iron robber…oh no, they had a good iron time…Excuse me, I’d like to explore the buildings…My fellow who knows Italy well said “If they are gipsy, it’s not good, We’d better go out.” Some of them try to steal our goods. We were 2 persons, but they were 5 Gears Of War Macho men…moreover they had chainsaws…please tell me how to beat them. Run away? Yeah, it’s a good plan. This time, we explored only Oculus Tower…Damn it!!!!

タワーの中から景色を楽しんでいると、不審な人影を発見。4-5人の屈強な肉体の男性たちが敷地内をウロウロしています..警戒しつつ様子をうかがっていると、ものすごい金属音とチェーンソーの音が聞こえてきました…。これは！鉄泥棒さんたちじゃないですか！なんてことでしょう、私たちが探検したい建物の中で鉄の取得にいそしんでおります…。イタリア通の同行人が、’ジプシーだったらヤバいので、脱出した方がいい’と教えてくれました。鉄泥棒をする人の中には、私たちの持ってる所持品を狙う人もいます。こちらは２人で向こうはギアーズオブウォーみたいな肉体のジプシー５人…しかも鉄を切れるチェーンソーまで持っている始末…分が悪すぎる…今回はオクルス・タワーのみ探索をして場所を後にしました…無念！
