The Seika-dormitory was owned by the university. The dormitory was burned by a fire in July 2007. At that time, out of the 38 Taiwanese people that lived in this building, unfortunately two old woman died by the fire.
I read in a news website that this place had been heavily damaged by fire, but that is was still standing in a relatively good state.
日々、成長をする東京23区。この区内では廃墟は早々に取り壊され、新しいビルが建ったりします。そんな中で清華寮はその規模の大きさを保ちながら廃墟として健在しています。外見や内部を見れば過去に火災があった事がわかります。多くの部屋が燃えてしまっていますが、中国人留学生の思い出の品を見ることが出来ました。
This location is located within a 1 hour train from my home.
Once inside I was really excited by what I saw. The great thing about the place was that it was hardly ruined and a lot of objects did not burn. There was no roof, because it had completely burned down.
手紙は大変悲しい内容でした。この部屋の主に送られてきたものだと思われます。脳腫瘍によって余命が短い友人から会いたいという言葉を綴った手紙です。文末の”Love”の文字にその気持ちが強く込められているように感じました。
