Sweet Abandoned Sugar Factory

We drove 1 hour away from Rome, Italy, arriving at ‘an abandoned sugar factory was waiting for me! This place called station sugar factory of Avezzano. It’s really huge, and really collapse. This scenery is simply overwhelming…

ローマから一時間ほどの工場町に残された砂糖工場の廃墟に行ってきました。かなりの規模をほこる工場ですが、老朽化のため崩壊も激しい場所でした。

History
The construction of the sugar factory of Avezzano, there was start before 1894. The plant worked with steam engines and was equipped with high brick-made chimneys, had a daily processing capacity from five thousand to six thousand tons of beets and employed several hundred workers. In 1915, the structure were greatly damaged due a strong earthquake. In 1954, being considered one of the oldest existing in Italy, the plant underwent some renovations and expansion. Other renewal interventions, carried out in 1962 and 1963 were strengthening the industry until it reaches a maximum of forty-two thousand tons of processing beets with a production of five thousand tons of refined sugar per day. The building adjacent to it, destined to deposit, has been realized in 1964, while the chimney has been rebuilt in 1970. It has been closed in the ’80s.

アべッザーノ砂糖工場は, 1894年に創業され、蒸気機関を使用した砂糖を毎日5000〜6000トンを生産をしていた。高いレンガ製の煙突がこの工場のランドマークでした。しかし1915年に、このエリアで発生した地震により建物が被害を受け、生産は一時停止、1954年にイタリアに残る最古の砂糖工場の一つとして再開され、再び生産を再開することに成功しました。壊れていた煙突も1970年に再建されましたが、その１０年後に工場は閉鎖されました。現在、そこは土地の所有者の管理下のもとにあります。

Reuse? Recycling?
Most of the building is abandoned, however some spaces are reused as like a place for potatoes. The administrator said that they are planning to use this place for something in the future.

建物の大半は廃墟ですが、一部はじゃがいも置き場になっていたりと再利用されています。管理者の方が言うには、いずれここを何かに利用できないかと検討中だとか

Wanna be a Sugared Lady
I could only find some things, but this building gave me a great feeling of a huge abandoned place. A very rust-eaten sugar machine made me crazy…I love RUST!!!! I have to notice that sugar lovers DO NOT promise yourselves heaven of sugar, because there are no sugar here nowadays!

残留物はあまり残ってないですが、荒廃していく大きな建物のスケールを感じれる廃墟。砂糖を作るマシーンもサビサビ状態で残っていて、錆フェチの私のハートをドキドキさせてくれました。現在、砂糖フェチの人はここに来てもお砂糖を食べることも、お砂糖の甘い匂いもありませんので、期待しないでください。
