The Lake Dolores Waterpark

Lake Dolores Water Park is an abandoned water park in Newberry Springs in the Mojave Desert of Southern California. This place gave some funs to people traveling on the interstate 15 between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Unfortunately, now the watermark is even not in a bad condition, it is properly dead. Its water slides and attractions are now gone, and repeatedly vandalized; much of the park is now in ruins.

レイク・ドローレス・ウォーターパークは、南カリフォルニアのモハーベ砂漠にあるウォーターパーク廃墟です。ロサンゼルスとラスベガス間のフリーウェイと走行する人々に、プールとアトラクションの癒し処的な存在でした。残念ながら、ウォーターパークは荒れ放題。アトラクションの多くが荒らされ、公園は廃墟となっています。

History: The park was originally designed and built by local businessman Bob Byers for use by his extended family. Lake Dolores was named after Byers’ wife. The initial phases of conception, planning and construction took place in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Over the next 25 years, rides and attractions were added, and the site evolved into a waterpark, which was advertised on television with the slogan “The Fun Spot of The Desert!” The park saw its peak attendance between the early 1970s and the mid-1980s. 公園は地元の実業家ボブ・バイヤーズによって建てられました。ドローレスという名前はバイヤーズの妻の名にちなんで名付けられた。建設は1950年代後半から1960年代初頭に行われ、25年間で、乗り物やアトラクションが増えて行き、地元ではテレビで宣伝されるぐらい有名になっていった。スローガンは「砂漠の楽しいスポット！」 公園は1970年代初めと1980年代半ばに、人気のピークになりましたが、1980年代後半に人気が低迷した後、公園は閉鎖した。（経由：ウィキペディア）

The place is open wide, so there are no specific instructions on how to get access to the park 🙂 Shut down, it’s now pretty much easy access to photographer and explorers. Bright colors futuristic buildings were only empty space, and various graffiti works on the walls on all floors.

ここはすっごくウェルカム状態な廃墟なので、誰でもアクセスすることができます。今では、写真家や廃墟探索家の人気スポットになっています。明るい色あいの未来的な建物の多くは、落書きだらけ。中にはなにも残っていません。

At once this artificial river was a special attraction in the park. One of the main spot was a huge running pool flowing around the perimeter of this area. The floor of the pool was littered with a lot of trash and waste scattered everywhere.

かつて公園を取り囲むようにしてあった巨大な流れるプールは、このウォーターパークの名物の一つでした。現在は、水が干上がり、ゴミや廃棄物が散らばっています。

The “Big Bopper” The park featured eight twins 150-foot (46 m) sixty degree angle steel waterslides mounted side by side on artificial hill. Nearby were two V shaped waterslides, which were ridden standing up. The “Big Bopper” waterslide was dismantled and shipped to Canada. It has disappeared without a trace now…

ビッグボッパーを呼ばれる、人工の丘の上から滑り落ちる46メートルの長さを誇っていたウォータースライダーがありましたが、今ではそれらはカナダに運ばれ再利用されているとか。
