The Oldest Hospital ” Z “

This summer I went to explore one of the most beautiful and famous abandoned hospital in Japan: Z-Hospital. Is located in a small town, and the hospital itself is quite small too, however there is the operation room and the patient rooms, so was a well equipped hospital at that time. Moreover is wooden made, simply wonderful!

日本の廃墟の中で、もっとも素晴らしい医院の廃墟として名高い、Z医院に行ってみました。それは地域密着型の小さな病院ですが、手術室や患者室もあり、当時としては設備の整った病院だったようです。しかも木造廃医院です…素敵すぎる。Wow!

Looking at the structure from outside, look likes a countryside old big house, so I was confused when I reached the destination…. I was like: “what? Is this the right place? Anyway…let’s go inside!” I was really surprised to find some old and rare medical equipment! Was exciting for me discover all that tools that I never saw before. The interior are perfectly preserved, and all the object and the memories of the doctors are well preserved too.

外から見ると日本の田舎に良くある大豪邸に見えた…場所を疑った…。え？ここでいいのかな？とりあえず中に入ってみよー。内部はほとんど荒らされていないので、医療機器と病院の思い出がたくさんつまっていた場所でした。残された珍しい古い医療機器たくさん! 見た事のない医療機器にワクワクしっぱなしでした。特に古いレントゲンには驚いた！Wow!

There are many different room for each different role in the hospital. The window frame in the examination room is pretty stylish, Inside there are still all the medical equipment and the old-style glasses left behind from the doctor.

ここにはどれも違う役割を持った、たくさんの部屋がありました。窓の形がオシャレな診察室には、古い医療器具と医者の思い出の品々がありました。お医者さんが使っていた丸いメガネが残されてました！Wow!

Because there wasn’t any surgical lighting, they let the natural light enter in the room through a window on the ceiling. The structure is builded in the way that from the second floor is possible to observe the state and the progress of the surgery. Very interesting!

この病院の手術室には、無影灯がなかった…ということは、天窓からの光で、手術室の中を照らしていたんでしょうか。手術室の二階には部屋があり、そこから手術室の様子を見れる窓がついていました。丸見え！Wow!
